Lactation Rooms

Butte College has five lactation rooms available to current students and employees. They are located in Allied Health and Public Service Center (AHPS) Room 208, Child Development Center (CDC) Room 111, Business Education (BE) Room 110, and at the Chico Center and Glenn County Center. Purpose

The purpose of the lactation rooms is for mothers to breastfeed their child or pump breastmilk for later use. It is the responsibility of the users to leave the room in the condition in which it was found, and to plan for proper storage of their milk. No lactation equipment or refrigeration is provided.  Children on campus are subject to all relevant District policies and regulations, including Board Policy and Administrative Procedure 3840 (Children on Campus). 

Access

Usage of these rooms is based on a first come, first reservation. Reservations can be made on a semester basis, up to three months in advance. Each use must be no longer than one hour in duration.

Current students and employees interested in using the lactation rooms can reserve and access the rooms by checking in with the contact people below at each location, except for CDC. Due to security reasons, users at CDC will need to first request for an access card through Facilities Planning and Management then show staff at CDC the card in order to access the lactation room.  Users can also temporarily check out an access card for BE 110 and AHPS 208 from the people below. Users with frequent standing reservations may request an access card to BE 110 and AHPS 208. 

Access cards will need to be renewed each semester for students and every two years for employees.  One access card can be assigned to a user and cannot be shared. Access cards shall be returned to Facilities Planning and Management when there is no longer a need to use the room. Users must immediately report any lost key cards to Facilities Planning and Management. The cost for a replacement card is $5.00.
